About Course

This programme provides an advanced course of instruction in the techniques, technologies, and methods used in managing and implementing information technology systems. It seeks to widen and deepen understanding of computing technologies and covers high level concepts that enable the effective management and exploitation of IT.

These post graduate courses have been designed specifically for people working in the IT industry and for technical graduates.

There is something here for everyone: high level strategy and design; in-depth technical specialisations; management and planning of it projects and services.

Modules include reviews of technologies and cover business and management issues relevant to the sector. Other modules have a more technical focus, providing graduates with hand on skills. There is also an emphasis on transferable skills, such as research, critical analysis and problem solving, in preparation for the specialist project that completes the M Sc.

The modular design of the programme means that they can be approached with different aims in mind and there is clear flexibility for change. Many people have the M Sc as their goal from the outset, but others will be content to aim for a postgraduate diploma, or certificate, or just to study one or two modules to supplement their record of continuing professional development.

Duration

Full-time M Sc students starting in September will complete the programme in 12 months. Part-time students will normally complete the M Sc in 2 years time.

Entry Requirements

The normal entry requirement; for the M Sc degree is an honours degree in IT / Computing or a related discipline. Candidates with different qualifications, demonstrable technical skills and relevant experiences will be considered on their individual merit.
